About the News Digest

The Alliance for Microbicide Development News Digest is an unedited compilation of:

• Media coverage of microbicides;
• Published abstracts of articles on microbicides and relevant science;
• Introductory text of material on other reproductive health and HIV and STI prevention technologies; and
• Matters of politics and policy with importance for microbicide research, development, and advocacy.

Its purpose is to:

• Raise awareness around the range of opinions and information about microbicides disseminated in scientific journals and the press; and
• Provide a neutral, objective basis for decision-making and evidence-informed advocacy.

The News Digest is released every Friday. It is produced in both web-based and PDF formats. Readers can view the entire Digest, or search by keyword  for individual articles in the News Digest Archive. 

Articles included in the Digest are not representative of the Alliance's viewpoints on particular issues. To suggest articles for inclusion in the Digest, please contact the Digest administrator.
