Tracking Coverage of Microbicides in the Press and Scientific Journals

The Alliance plays a vital role in maintaining communication across the field, expanding awareness of key events and critical issues in microbicide development, and disseminating information to investigators, public health officials, advocates, and the public. As part of this task, the Alliance continuously monitors media outlets and scientific journals for coverage of microbicides and other topics of particular relevance. This coverage is compiled and distributed weekly in the News Digest to hundreds of individuals. In addition, breaking News Alerts are sent on an ad hoc basis to highlight events of immediate importance, covering topics ranging from new funding opportunities to milestones in clinical trials.
