Education, Advocacy, & Policy

Policy Initiatives

The Alliance has maintained a political agenda for the past seven years, with the goal of helping policymakers understand the role that safe and effective microbicides could play in stemming the HIV/AIDS pandemic, and increasing federal funding for this research. Advocacy

The Alliance is active in a variety of advocacy networks, including the Microbicide Media and Communication Initiative and the International Rectal Microbicides Advocates.

Education

Several Alliance publications serve as valuable educational tools. These documents range from those geared towards a broad audience, including Microbicide Watch, to those geared specifically toward advocates, developers, researchers, and donors, including the Microbicide Development Strategy and Mapping the Microbicide Effort.
